21.06.2008 - Opening of 'Show Two', in which graduates from design products show their projects. I will be exhibiting projects in lighting and glassware. See preview images of the projects below.
T5 - A system of fixtures for the relatively new T5 standard of fluorescent tube lights, designed to appeal to the non corporate market.
In 2007 the EU decided to ban all standard edison light bulbs and promote the use of modern compact fluorescent light source instead; this altogether a honourable intention, but although the new light sources are more efficient, consume less energy and have a longer life span, they also involve more material resources in the production process. The electronic components needed to operate a compact fluorescent light are being disposed with the light once it has outrun it's lifespan. Even if the electronics are going to be recycled, it is far better to avoid waste in the first place by using fixedly installed ballasts and just replace the light source.
Deriving from this preposition T5 constitutes an easy to produce, easy to install, aesthetically appealing lighting system for a domestic environment. It consist so far in three configurations, as a pendant light, as a wall mounted version and as a reading light.

5T is a structural light object and a explorational experiment of space and light.
Originating in the same starting point as the T5 project - the exlolration of the potential of fluorescent tube lights in domestic environments - it is in many respects the opposite and rather intended for large spaces.

2+1 - A couple of glass vessels inspired by the aesthetics of laboratory glass ware.

Chain Gang - These mugs are the evolved version of the ones, that were exhibited during the interim Show.
